Chasing dx stations is probably the most fun of amateur
radio operating. DX means a foreign station in a distant country from
where you are transmitting. The ARRL has a DXCC List of countries which
are recognized by various DX Awards groups. There are many DX
Countries very rare because there not many operators active in that
country. There are DXPEDITIONS specifically to activate these rare
countries. This is why dx operators read the ARRL DX Info., and get
information from many good DX Info. sites on the web. |
DX Clusters are a great tool for
those chasing DX these days. We will be adding information about dx
cluster software and web sites. One great free program for tracking DX Cluster Spots is named DXVIEW
and SPOTCOLLECTOR. There is a download and install link 3/4 way down the
page for dxview. At the bottom is a link to get spotcollector. This
requires an internet connection to gather the dx spots.
A great free logbook software that has dx cluster monitor built in is
Ham Radio Deluxe. It has lots of good features including psk mode.
